On November 21, 2021, tragedy struck the annual Waukesha Christmas Parade when a vehicle drove through the parade route, claiming six lives and injuring more than seventy others. Hundreds more were left with emotional and mental scars as they witnessed the horrific events.
In the aftermath, the community united as Waukesha Strong, taking steps toward healing and resilience. In November 2023, the Main Street Parade Memorial was dedicated near the site of the tragedy. A year later, in November 2024, another memorial was established in the heart of Grede Park, offering a serene and accessible space for reflection, surrounded by scenic views.
